The biggest excuse we will hear is "I/we were just following the science" which will be a falsehood. Too many of the powerful in government eagerly jumped on lockdowns, mask and vaccine mandates and all the other oppressive measures taken before there was any science to follow. I know that I won't forget. Whether I forgive is entirely dependent on what is done to earn that forgiveness.

It infuriates me that the people who should give us truth and guidance have instead lied to us, misled us and purposely allowed us to be injured and/or killed by the prevention and treatments that they presented to us as necessary and life saving. It further infuriates me that they now want a “do over,” which amounts to license to do it again and again with whatever crisis befalls us. We are not the great unwashed, uneducated out here. I have two master’s degrees in healthcare sciences and I’ve known from Day 1 that we were being lied to by the likes of Fauci and Birx and Walensky. I’ve watched the media and social media block out and lock out any opposition. People like me have had to use word of mouth to try to educate people, but they had to choose between jobs and mandates. It is criminal that drug companies put profit ahead of safety. None of these people- talking heads, media, drug companies, govt leaders- NONE deserve amnesty. Period.

Heather, you and Bret were right all along and deserve to gloat. I am grateful that I found the DarkHorse pod cast, you have been the calm in the storm for me. I, being the only non mRNA injected person in my entire family and circle of friends has been an eye opener, the scars will remain with me for some time. At least my husband caught on and has refused booster shots.

I remember this podcast well. Heather had it right! Brett was playing the wrong hand. It would be like not having the Nuremberg trials after VE day.

I second that...you and Brett were a lifesaver, especially during the dark days of needing affirmation that I was on the right track.

Amnesty is surely the wrong idea to apply here. Amnesty implies forgetting the harm. Forgetting about these events would be foolish. They must be remembered.

Remembering error and avoiding it in the future does not preclude forgiveness but forgiveness has a price. Never ever do it again.

A bit late, but I wrote a post last week in regards to Oster and a lot of the stuff going on surrounding her, a little because I thought my perspective was different than others.

https://moderndiscontent.substack.com/p/in-regards-to-covid-amnesty

Essentially, I took the point that I had no idea who Oster is, and so I found that the criticisms against her were more of a vetting exercise for all of the pent up rage and anger people had with Oster serving as a conduit, and although many people are in need of catharsis I felt this also was a bit of a distraction against the other people whose anger is really deserved.

With that being said, last year I didn't feel the same and I was angry at both friends and family who continued to go on with the COVID charade. I ended up writing a piece which included a bit about forgiveness and the difficulties of it.

Contrast it with my Oster piece where I say it's more about finding forgiveness in those who deserve it and holding those accountable who require accountability.

I'm also coming from the perspective of someone who was ostracized and let go of my job for not being vaccinated, which unfortunately was a far too common occurrence. But even with that, I don't hold a grudge against those who let me go even though finances are a bit of a concern right now (and that's not to say that other people shouldn't be angry). I was feeling burnout and I was going to be stuck in a dead-end job anyways so I try to stay optimistic and consider my leaving a step towards something better.

It's more about those who found it necessary to ostracize those who chose to act for themselves or be punished that is deserving of the anger. Those who weaponized policy, science, and our relationships with one another are who should be held accountable.

Apologies for blabbing on. As an aside, I'm sure you've seen this piece on misinformation which collected survey results from researchers around the globe, but if not it may be something interesting for both you and Bret to discuss. I find it to be a very telling piece on the misinformation narrative, especially as this seems to be tied with Elsevier and some global think tank:

I’ll grant these folks amnesty. If amnesty means prison of course.
