This was actually first piece of your that I ever read or even heard of, it is an absolutely brilliant and original insight, I have recommended it (at the medium link) countless times and frequently use your phrase 'read only activism' in conversation.

This is scary stuff, when those young people who should be the most open minded seem to be the least. Without thinking critically a person cannot think creatively. The first step to wisdom is saying to oneself "Is that in fact true? How can I know?" It's as if we wish to emulate the Communist Chinese model of education where conformity is rewarded and critical thinking is punished. I am coming to believe that our higher educational system is as dangerous to our Republic as the Deep State and the Alphabet agencies.

Dr. Weinstein's intro about why the protesters should stay and listen is splendid. How could someone not be moved to open their mind with such a reasoned argument to just be open to what the panelists are about to say?

The basis for these kids' grievances seems rooted in their upbringing. Their arguments are displaced toward any and all figures of authority. I hope they have or will eventually achieve some semblance of rationality, clarity, compassion, and room to be wrong. Such narrow thinking will only lead them down a path where they'll end up muttering to no one in particular about all perceived wrongs against humanity (read, themselves, as projected from an immature, chaotic mind). Sad, really.
