I spoke many of these words to my husband this morning, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

The earthy, hippy, natural childbirth, question everything people I was aware of in the early 80’s have become the people entrenched in “the government is here to help” and TDS.

“ As for my little life and the people I am with, I choose not to be divisive. I hold my tongue constantly. There is no convincing anyone of anything. They are too entrenched in their belief systems. I wish sometimes that I could have remained ignorant. At least I would still feel like I belonged, but that ship has sailed. I will never blindly vote Democratic again. I cannot watch the news anymore. I do not have anyone on my side. I will just have to be content with being on the conspiratorial fringe, looking in, waiting for the next episode of DarkHorse so I can hear the voices of reason once again”

I, and I know many others in this space, share the sense of outsider-ness. After reading this I was inspired to find and watch Bill Maher's interview of Heather and Bret and was reminded of the joy and relief I felt when I first found and heard them speak science and sanity in the midst of the the mid-2020 Covid craziness. I am confident that their candor and courage encouraged and empowered many confused and alienated souls. The most resonant statement in this story: "I knew that I was not willing to risk it, even if my Doctor was."
