Yes. I think I'll go bake some bread.

Fantastic! The smell of baking bread is one of the wonderful things in life. (Also of course the taste of freshly baked bread, especially with a crackly crust and a chewy crumb, spread with fresh butter and sprinkled with coarse flakes of salt...do I betray the fact that I am just coming off a short (36 hr) dry fast, and have only had water and coffee thus far?

One of the dubious boons of old age is the reduction of surprizes. You both seem to have avoided that. Hopefully you will continue to do so. Awesome to see your nestlings take flight on their own. Pride and worry struggling for dominance. The calendar is arbitrary but the new year is always a promise. Until I become convinced that this is all a simulation I will celebrate solstices, birthdays and New Years.

The new year is indeed always a promise.

I refuse to engage the "it's all a simulation" folks. I find them dreary and uninspiring. If they're right, they're right, but I see no value in dwelling there. To solstices, birthdays, and new years!

Hey, just an FYI, as a Heather fan girl. I don't think I can morally support you if you end up on the side of the technocratic oligarchs on the H1B visa issue. It is not a psyop. It's a huge reason I voted red. We need to stand against the elites even if we must momentarily ally with them. They do not have the best interests of the American people at heart. Listen to Eric, and hear what Vivek is actually saying. They hate us. Same as the blue oligarchs. Please don't betray us now.
