Love your work always Heather and I am glad you made it through to go on to write your book and to the rest of the fantastic work you and your husband do together. You are a beacon in this mad world.

I would normally ignore a post like this; this sort of thing isn't normally interesting to me...but I decided to give this one a listen anyway while cleaning out email...and wow, what an amazingly well told story!! Thanks for sharing your harrowing experience.

I am stunned. there aren't words for what you went through. I hope you were able to heal most of your injuries. And, I think you now know, how loved you are. If there's anything good from this terrifying experience, I think that will be it.

Well written. Well read.

I've not been to the rain forest, or the Galapagos but I have spent time on Lake Superior, and I have put myself and family into a situation where there wasn't any room for mistakes or breakdowns. Hypothermia sets in fast in Gitchigumi.

We had a 20 mile troll from Isle Royal (Have you been? It's your kind of place. There's always biology students studying wolf / moose dynamics) back to Grand Portage, powering up and surfing down waves that swallowed the world when you are in the trough. Fortunately in my case, all ended well, but I did get reminded - as you did - how insignificant we are to the forces of nature.

I bet you'd like the BWCA too, and if that's too civilized you can hop across the border to the Quetico. There's no shortage of biting flies and mosquitos the size of bats.

This is quite the harrowing tale and I'm happy to hear it worked out in the end.

I LOVE YOU but must offer pro audio advice. This audio needs a little more engineering (post recording) love. Reach out to me if you want to have the details. Rebecca 'at' LovethatRebecca 'dot' com. I'm a pro voice actor and want that background noise cleaned up so we hear just your beautiful voice, Heather! I'm happy to teach you or your son/s to do it yourselves if you like. 🥰🥰
